What's Mine is Yours

Today marks the fourteenth day of Blogmas. Fifteen days of my thoughts, with some Christmas cheer sprinkled in.

With Christmas just around the corner, I have been paying extra attention to what matters to me and what sparks joy in my life. This includes both the people I surround myself with and the hobbies I use to entertain myself. Lately, I have been mixing these two things together so that my time is used more efficiently.

Today involved doing an end-of-the-month junk journal side-by-side with my friend Landon at the park. This involved attempting to cut out mini snowflakes, eating chicken tenders, and getting glue all over my fingers. This is one of the hobbies I introduced to him because I figured it was simple and could help get one's creative juices flowing. I've introduced this, reading romcoms, and a variety of movies as well. Don't get me wrong, I love doing these by myself, but there is something incredibly enjoyable about doing these things and sharing them with the other person.

It gives me insight into another perspective, and it gives me someone to rant to about something that I'm passionate about. Sometimes people don't have the same reaction that I do because they have never done or been interested in what I'm speaking about. That can make it hard to want to bring it up to another person; you never know what their reaction is going to be.

That is why it feels so great to be able to laugh and talk about random things while creating these junk journals. Whether it's me talking about SpongeBob having two left hands or talking about the book I recommended. It helps to bring me back to life after feeling tired and wanting to lie in bed for days. If I find a person who matches me and enjoys the things I enjoy, I will cherish them and continue sharing the things I enjoy because what's mine is yours.
